North Face Endurance Challenge Training
There are only 5 weeks left until November Project takes over the podium at the California Championship of the North Face Endurance Challenge Series. I will be running 2 10k legs of the marathon relay, the course for which includes a roughly 2.5 mile hill. So needless so say I have some training to do. I started running 3-4 times a week about 5 weeks ago but have had a few setbacks which have had me mostly sidelined for the past couple weeks. I have been doing a lot of strengthening though and am feeling fit and healthy going into this week. Having a healthy foundation for Boston training is my primary goal but I still want to have a good showing in Marin in December. I am going to be running mostly based on feel and time, not on pace and distance and am still trying to avoid running multiple days in a row. With that in mind here is my training plan for the next 5 weeks: Week of November 3
Monday: Run 30 minutes at easy pace, hot power yoga
Tuesday: 40 minute Reformer Pilates Class
Wednesday: November Project in the am, North Face Speed Workout in the evening (15 minute warm up, 6 x 800, 15 minute cool down)
Thursday: Core Power Yoga SF Grand Opening Class
Friday: November Project Hills - 30 minutes of Hills
Saturday: Long Trail Run - 8 Miles @ Tilden Lone Oak Hill
Sunday: Core Power Restorative Yoga
Week of November 10
Monday: Run 40 minutes easy, hot power yoga
Tuesday: Barre Class
Wednesday: November Project in the am, North Face Speed Workout in the evening (15 minute warm up, 6 x 800, 15 minute cool down)
Thursday: Barry's Bootcamp Hard Core Abs
Friday: November Project Hills - 30 minutes of Hills
Saturday: Off / The Hunt
Sunday: Long Trail Run - 9 Miles @ Marin Headlands, Core Power Restorative Yoga
Week of November 17
Monday: Barry's Bootcamp Ams & Abs in the am, North Face strength training in the pm
Tuesday: 30 min Run - comfortable pace , Power Yoga
Wednesday: November Project in the am, North Face Speed Workout in the evening (15 minute warm up, 6 x 800, 15 minute cool down)
Thursday: Reformer Pilates Class
Friday: November Project Hills - 40 minutes of Hills
Saturday: Long trail Run - 10 Miles @ Joaquin Miller park
Sunday: Off
Week of November 24
Monday: Run 45 Minutes easy pace, hot power yoga
Tuesday: Barre Class
Wednesday: November Project in the am, North Face Speed Workout in the evening (15 minute warm up, 6 x 800, 15 minute cool down)
Thursday: Thanksgiving 30 minute run
Friday: November Project Hills - 30 minutes of Hills
Saturday: Long trail Run - 12 Miles @ Marin Headlands
Sunday: Off - Core Power Restorative Yoga
Week of December 1
Monday: Run 45 Minutes easy pace
Tuesday: Barry's Bootcamp
Wednesday: November Project in the am, North Face Speed Workout in the evening (15 minute warm up, 6 x 800, 15 minute cool down)
Thursday: Power Yoga
Friday: November Project Hills - shakeout run / rest
Saturday: 20 minute shakeout run
